I made these letters for my mom for Christmas. Here are some individual pictures of each letter for a closer look.
If you kind of squint, you can make out the numbers of our house, 5770. I used some Making Memories metal letters that I've had forever. (See, that's why we need tons of stuff, since you never know when you could need it.)
The faux stitching on the O is done with an opaque white gel pen from SU. The paper piecing took forEVER! I'm a slow worker anyway, but there has to be an easier way than what I did. Hey quilters, is there a particular technique to crazy quilt?
The red gingham flower does go better with the paisley paper IRL.
I love how my E turned out, but it seems to be a little too busy when it's put next to the other letters. (I think they're jealous.) If I ever do this kind of project again, I'll use darker colors with less patterns so it stands out better from a distance.
Gotta love some pompom trim!
I think that's enough crappy pictures for now! Thanks for putting up with them. I can't wait for more daylight hours, maybe it would help my photos. For now, you'll just have to take my word for it that my letters look better in person. :)
